Professional Background
Allison Johnson has an extensive national and international background in human relations and equal opportunity management consulting and training. Growing people and building better relationships are her passions. She is often asked to speak about success, professionalism and motivation because of her dynamic personality, high-energy training sessions and her “never quit attitude.” A highlight of her professional career was an invitation from WomenCare to Perm, Russia. There she delivered workshops on teambuilding, professionalism, motivation and a keynote address at WomenCare’s Annual National Conference.
Experience
She has nearly two decades of experience working to eliminate equal opportunity biases and has represented the Department of Defense, U.S. State Department and the Department of Army on numerous occasions at home and abroad. A few of the countries she has consulted with include South Africa, Burundi, Canada, Japan, Romania and Russia. As president of the Lee Johnson Group, she has conducted training for over 12,000+ workshop participants in the past ten years, in organizations such as Bell Atlantic, Amoco, Prudential, Monsanto, Cingular, UAW-Ford, UAW-Visteon, FBI, CIA, FDIC, FRA, Department of Justice, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, Department of Transportation, Export-Import Bank and the National Society for Human Resource Management.
A few of the classes she has taught in the past include Leadership, Communications, Team Building, DiSC® Behavioral Styles, Change, Stress and Time Management, Work Expectations, Innovation, Delegation, and Planning Processes, Coaching, Professionalism, Personal Excellence, Equal Employment Opportunity, and a myriad of courses in race relations, diversity, prevention of sexual harassment and gender dynamics. As a skilled “train the trainer” facilitator, she has over 680 hours in small group dynamics.
She is a former Director of International Affairs for the Department of Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute and a former faculty member for the Anti Defamation League’s, A World of Difference® Institute. Allison has served in two adjunct professor positions. She has taught Communications at the University of Phoenix, “on ground” Campus in Northern Virginia and Human Relations for the Department of Psychology at the Northern Virginia Community College, Alexandria Campus.
Education
Allison holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, a Master of Human Relations degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Arts in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Trinity International University, Deerfield, Illinois.
Certifications
Allison holds certifications as an Equal Employment Opportunity Counselor and Investigator, Dale Carnegie instructor/facilitator and Inscape Publishing’s INDRA assessment (a DiSC® assessment tool which examines in-depth relationship dynamics). She is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and recently completed her advanced certificate in Professional Life Coaching with the American Association of Christian Counselors.
