CPE Credits

CPE stands for "Continuing Professional Education." A CPE credit is granted to successful individuals successfully completing a course of training.

Education boards for professional education - prominently the education board for CPAs – has identified the need to continuously train professionals so that they may be up-to-date in the knowledge of their field and remain abreast of the contemporary topics in their occupation.

CPE accredited courses are designed to meet the quality of education required by the profession.

The CPE credits requirements vary from one professional course to the other. While earning a required number of CPE credits in accounting every year is mandatory for the CPAs, the same rule may or may not be enforced on other professions.

Taking CPE courses and earning the credits is a great way of keeping yourself up-to-date and making yourself a better professional.

The National Registry of CPE Sponsors is a program offered by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) to recognize CPE program sponsors who provide continuing professional education (CPE) programs in accordance with nationally recognized standards. The names of approved CPE program sponsors are published in a listing distributed throughout the country via the internet and in printed format. State Boards of Accountancy and their licensees can refer to this listing to identify and select CPE program sponsors.
