Professional Background
Connie Brown has led organizations to effectively navigate diverse work environments as a nationwide consultant, facilitator and trainer for the past 15 years. She brings expertise in a wide array of organizational diversity/inclusion and compliance arenas including diversity consulting and management, organizational development, board diversity, organizational assessment, workshops/classes, focus groups, cultural coaching, staff development, EEO Audits, EEO Investigations and human resources consulting.
Ms. Brown has created and conducted employee development sessions on diversity/inclusion, cultural proficiency, cultural competence, sexual harassment prevention, generational and gender differences, privilege and entitlement and customer service. Her clients have included executives, managers, supervisors, boards of directors and other workforce professionals and employees. She has trained resistant participants such as police and fire departments. Ms. Brown has worked as a facilitator and consultant with corporate, business, governmental and nonprofit-sector clients. She also facilitates diversity strategic planning sessions and develops organizational diversity initiatives.
Experience
As an independent EEO investigator, Ms. Brown has served clients who seek a neutral approach to discrimination and/or harassment investigations, a process that reassures a complaining party and mitigates filings with federal agencies. In conducting EEO Audits, Ms. Brown has reviewed company documents to gauge their compliance with federal policy standards and employment practices.
In her capacity as the Director of External Affairs for Project Equality, her responsibilities included business development, organizational development, program and course development in the areas of diversity, culture, inclusion and sexual harassment and discrimination prevention, facilitation/training, train-the-trainer, cultural assessment, board diversity and board development, grant writing and program management. During her career, Connie has worked with clients such as U.S. Department of Justice, H&R Block, HBE/Adam's Mark Hotels, Builder's Association, Watson Rick, Inc. as well as numerous nonprofit organizations.
